Did Anyone Think This Policy Through???
Some people say that if one child starts vaping or using any smokeless product, that is one child too many. What if they start smoking instead? Would that be better?
Of course not!!!!
Would it be better if their parents smoked instead of using a less harmful alternative?
Of course not!!!!
Then why are some places making it easier to purchase combustible cigarettes than it is to buy vapes, pouches, etc? Why can some people go to a corner store for a pack of smokes and yet need to find a pharmacy that will carry the alternatives to lethal cigarettes so they can buy those alternatives?
If the answer is to prevent youth use of safer alternatives, is the answer also so the kids and their parents find it easier to smoke instead?
There must be a better way to prevent youth initiation as much as possible without sending a message to people of all ages it’s preferred they smoke!

The Unintended Consequences of Anti-Tobacco Legislation: A Closer Look at the Pakistani Context. “ATOs in Pakistan need to expand the conversation. Rather than focusing solely on bans and restrictions, they should explore and embrace less harmful alternatives that align with people’s current needs. THR products offer a pathway to change – one that respects individuals’ informed choices while still promoting public well-being.”
Nuanced and Balanced Policy Decisions
